Respirafect® is used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve symptoms associated with chest complaints, such as excess mucus (catarrhs), coughs, and bronchitis.
Long one of our bestselling formulas, Respirafect® is a herbal combination created specifically to address lung and bronchial infections, especially those accompanied by sputum coughed up from the lower airways. With its soothing demulcent action, Respirafect® helps the lungs eliminate the burden of excess, waste-laden mucus generated by the body’s response to illness.
The infection-fighting qualities of Respirafect make it a perfect companion to our RespiraCleanse formula, which is oriented towards the mitigation of coughs.
St. Francis Herb Farm uses either certified organic or wildcrafted herbs in our Respirafect® herbal formula.

ECHINACEA ANGUSTIFOLIA: Probably the most popular and most widely known of herbal remedies, echinacea is a drought-tolerant perennial plant that can grow up to four feet in height. With immunological properties, it is native to the United States and a member of the daisy family. Its name comes from the Greek that means "hedgehog"--a reference to its spiky central disk. The medicinal compounds in the purpurea species known as alkamides are more bioavailable when in the presence of those from the angustifolia species. This is the rationale behind our EchinAce formula.

A strikingly elegant member of the sunflower family, elecampane is native to Europe and Asia. Its Latin name, Inula helenium, is a reference to Helen of Troy, whose tears, as they fell to the ground, are said to have turned into the plant. The Celts considered elecampane sacred and called it "elfwort."
A classic perennial shrub native to Eurasia, licorice has been used as a medicine from the beginning of recorded history. Licorice root is the most widely used herb of Traditional Chinese Medicine. A tall plant with a stem that rises to a spike characterized by small yellow flowers, mullein grows in well-lit, disturbed soils throughout the temperate zones of Europe and Asia, as well as North America.
