A large tuberous perennial with yellow blossoms and narrow green leaves that stands about a metre high, ginger has its origins in southern Asia, but can now be found in nearly all tropical and subtropical countries.

Marshmallow

Now naturalized in North America, marshmallow is a perennial original to Europe and grows, as its name indicates, in damp, marshy places. With roots that are rich in soothing mucilage, it has been used for thousands of years as a medicinal herb.

Medicinal Ingredients (per teaspoon):  

Psyllium (Plantago ovata, seed and husk) 1.428 g

Arabinogalactan (D-Galacto-L-arabinan, Larix occidentalis, gum) 1.26 g

Pectin (Malus domestica, fruit) 0.35 g

Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis, root) 0.175 g

Anise (Pimpinella anisum, fruit) 0.175 g

Triphala (Amla, Bibhitaki, Haritaki)

Amla (Phyllanthus emblica, fruit) 0.165 g

Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica, fruit) 0.165 g

Haritaki (Terminalia chebula, fruit) 0.165 g

Ginger (Zingiber officinale, rhizome) 0.042 g

Peppermint (Mentha x piperita, leaf) 0.035 g

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: 

Slippery Elm Bark Powder (Certified Organic)

Dosage:

Adults: 2 teaspoons 1-3 times per day. 

 Dosage Directions: 

Mix with 150 ml of liquid (water, milk, fruit juice, or similar beverage) per 2tsp. Stir briskly and drink immediately. Take 2 hours before or after taking other medications or health products. Effects observed 12-24 hours after first dose and may take 2-3 days. In addition, maintain adequate liquid intake. 

Duration of Use:  

Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or if laxative effect does not occur within 7 days.

Cautions and Warnings: 

Consult a health care practitioner before use: if you have symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever (as these could be signs of abnormal constrictions of the gastrointestinal tract, diseases of the esophagus and/or the superior opening of the stomach (cardia), potential or existing intestinal blockage, paralysis of the intestine, megacolon, faecal impaction, inflamed bowel, appendicitis); if you are taking medications which inhibit peristaltic movement (e.g. opioids, loperamide); if you are breastfeeding; if you have gallstones or anemia. Consult a health care practitioner immediately if you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product. Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen or persist. 

Contraindications: 

Do not use: if you are pregnant; if you have difficulty swallowing; if you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate; if you are experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defecate following the use of another laxative product.

Known Adverse Reactions:  

May cause temporary gas and/or bloating. Hypersensitivity, such as allergy, has been known to occur following inhaled and/or ingested psyllium; in which case, discontinue use. 

Do not use if seal is broken. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool dry place to preserve freshness.
